Celebrate! June 1

We’re celebrating The Hitching Post turning 75 and our kick-off to summer on Saturday, June 1. Live music and anniversary cake will start at 4 PM, featuring performances by The Gliddiots Too from 4 to 5:30 and The HitchHikers from 5:30 to 7 PM. The complimentary birthday cake is available until supplies run out, and our full menu will be available along with the hot dog and brat specials for purchase. We are super excited to kick off the summer season with this 75th anniversary celebration at The Hitching Post!

The Hitching Post has been a landmark destination in Door County for decades, popular with both locals and tourists visiting the scenic peninsula area. The log building was built by Ewald Schmock in 1949. The Hitching Post restaurant first came to be in 1956, when Marilyn Marr and Bill Koepp, Jr., or “Marney” and “Buggs,” purchased the lot that the log building stands on, turning it into a restaurant

Carolyn and Andy Ripp reopened The Hitching Post Bar & Grill in September, 2018.
